The Oriental Rug Warehouse was established in 1983.

Originally it was a closed store supplying hand made area rugs to the Interior design trade, architects and furniture stores.

In 1993, The Oriental Rug Warehouse moved to its present location off Miles Road in Warrensville Heights and opened its doors to sell direct to the public at the same wholesale prices backiously charged to trade clients.

Today, The Oriental Rug Warehouse is the areas largest direct importer of quality hand knotted rugs from India, China, Tibet and Nepal and imports almost every rug offered.

The Oriental Rug Warehouse maintains a large inventory in sizes from 2’x3’ up to 16’x27’ in traditional and contemporary styles. Rugs are sorted by size for easy viewing. Home viewing is encouraged through their ‘Try Before You Buy’ program.

Roy Gonsenhauser, the company president, has over forty years experience on four continents including study in Iran and is recognized as a leading expert in this area. He selects most every rug personally and is extremely proud of the quality and price of the merchandise that he offers.

Steven Reichek, the sales manager has 15 years experience and is both knowledgeable and patient and has traveled extensively in many rug-producing areas.

The corporate philosophy is to treat each client as the only client while offering the best quality, service and price.
